Designer Spotlight

Spotlight

During my time interning with Bravo Reality star Reco Chapple from " The Fashion Show" I have learned a lot about the business in a short time thus far. One of my duties as a intern is to learn other designers work as well as my boss. I am really excited about the learning the mechanics , the buz and ready to learn what I can about the industry at hand. One of my designers on my list is the great Tracy Reese.

Tracy Reese was born on February 12, 1964 in Detroit, MI ranks as on of the fashion industry's most successful African American women whose realm is not relegated to the runway. In a business where few designer labels seem to make it past their fifth anniversary, Reese has two clothing lines, TR and Plenty, which have been sold at Nordstrom,Saks Fifth Avenue, Bloomingdale's and other top retailers since the mid- 1990s. Her company's sales topped $12million in 2003, and it launched a Pelenty-label home line that same year and a footwear collection the following. Reese has an unerring eye for what women will buy.

Reese attended Cass Technical High School public school in Detroit school system. There students forcus on the arts or academics. Later, she attended New York's Parson School of Design. In the early 1990 ,Reese won the head designer with a new label called Magaschoni. It was the owner that produced clothes for Calvin Klein, Donna Karan, and other well-known names. In 2007 Tracy was inducted as board member of the CFDA: and over the past decade, the Tract Reese name has become synonymous with frothy dresses and print driven heirloom fare that women across the globe can not get enought of her work.

You can find her clothing in retail store nationwide. If you have any questions you can go to http://www.tracyreese.com/, http://www.fashionshowroom.com/ or, http://www.answers.com/.
